About Ellen Manning
Ellen Manning is an artist with a BFA in Illustration and minor in Printmaking from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
She spends most of her days doodling in her sketchbook, reading, listening to music, and working on freelance projects for various clients. Her work has appeared in the Dallas Morning Newspaper and the covers of four anthologies for Deep Center located in Savannah, Georgia.
Her art emanates feelings of childishness yet it delves into such complexities as body image, self esteem, feminism, mental health, and many more intricate topics involving young girls and women. She mainly works digitally on her pieces but does not shy away from traditional media such as printmaking inks or markers in her sketchbook illustrations.
Artist Statement
I want to reach out to people who are feeling isolated in their feelings of self esteem and body image issues. My main goal is so uplift young girls and women with my bright and colorful art depicting that their sadness can lead to confidence and self-love. It is a tough road to travel for anyone, but I aspire to make it a little less lonely and more of an adventure to truly appreciating oneself.
