About Kade Chan
Chan Pak Hei, Kade is a professional origami artist from Hong Kong. Born in 1993, he started folding paper in 2005, after he joined the Hong Kong Origami Society at the age of 12.
In 2008, when Kade Chan was 14 years old, he designed his first origami model - the Fiery Dragon. The diagram has been published in the book Origami Worldwide by John Montroll and Brian K Webb.
In addition, instructions for the Fiery Dragon were made into a YouTube video tutorial by Tadashi Mori, which has had over 5,000,000 views. Now Kade Chan has more than 100 original origami designs.
Kade Chan has received a great deal of recognition for his designs and has been the recipient of many international origami awards and honors. Most notably, in 2012, he received the Éric Joisel Award from Origami Canada. And in 2013, he received the Yoshino Issei Fund from the Japan Origami Academic Society. This is the most prestigious award in the origami community, and he is this first Chinese to receive it.
